Julian “Joe” Huerta

Julian “Joe” Huerta, 78, of Stockton, passed away on January 18th, 2019, in Stockton. He was born on June 23, 1940 to Julian and Guadalupe Huerta. Joe was a barbershop owner for 30 years. He was also the owner of Cirilo’s bar for 8 years. He proudly served in the United States Army and Air Force, serving as military police for the Air Force.   He enjoyed shopping, traveling, listening to oldies, watching old war movies, the Giants, the 49’ers, and taking trips to Red Hawk.

He is survived by the love of his life, Gloria Maes; daughters, Lisa (Mark) Mattingly and Valerie Huerta; son, Julian Huerta, Jr.; grandchildren, Chase and Reese Mattingly, Emily Huerta, Serita Stoian, Julian Huerta, Jalyn Huerta; and Taylor and Jordan Hill, Jack, Andrew, and Brody Maes, who were like his grandchildren; great grandchildren, Bella and Nolan Stoian; sisters, Lydia Garcia, Rose Marie Huerta, Connie Martinez, Christy Huerta, Angie Maldonado, and Jennie Wetzel. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Veronica Huerta; brother, Andrew Huerta; sisters, Ramona Gudino & Lupe Nunez.

The family would like to thank the VA for their care and Da Vita Dialysis.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 1st, 2019 at 10am at the Church of Presentation. A committal will take place on Thursday, February 7th, at 11:30am at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, in Dixon, CA. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Legion. Collins Family Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
